Propane burns at a temperature of 3,560˚ Fahrenheit, the same as natural gas. However, the resulting combustion products are distinct from each other.
Propane surpasses natural gas in energy efficiency. While one cubic foot of natural gas produces approximately 1,012 Btus (British Thermal Units) of heat, propane outshines it with an impressive 2,520 Btus per cubic foot!

The presence of a blue flame signifies complete combustion, guaranteeing safe and efficient burning of propane at maximum heat, while minimizing wastage.
If you observe orange or yellow flames on your propane burner, it signifies inefficient burning of gas. This problem often occurs on a propane range when spilled food and debris obstruct the burner. By ensuring regular cleaning and maintenance, you can uphold peak performance and prevent the occurrence of such discolored flames.
Improper combustion can result in propane wastage, ultimately increasing your energy expenses. In complete combustion with a blue flame, the temperature of a propane flame is 3,560˚ Fahrenheit. With a yellow or orange flame, the flame’s temperature is 1,832˚ Fahrenheit.
Cooking with only half the heat generated by an oven’s heating element can significantly impact the quality of your dishes. It can lead to uneven temperature distribution in your pan, preventing you from achieving that desirable browning or searing effect.
